The Story

Some islands feel like they were made for discovery.

Bohol is one of them.

The Chocolate Hills, 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped mounds rising from the flat plains of Carmen, turning brown as chocolate every dry season in a geological event so strange and beautiful that scientists still debate exactly how they formed. The tarsier, one of the world's smallest primates, clinging to a branch in the forest with enormous golden eyes that seem to hold more than they should.

And then the sea. The dive sites of Balicasag. The white sand of Panglao. The ancient churches that have survived earthquakes and centuries. The bangka crossing from Tagbilaran to Cebu that feels, for a moment, like traveling between two different worlds that are somehow the same world.
