The Story

Some mountains you have heard of. This is not one of them.

Mt Dulang-Dulang is the second highest peak in the Philippines. 2,938 metres, in the Kitanglad range in Bukidnon, and most Filipinos have never heard the name.

Climbers call it D2. They talk about the mossy forest, where every branch is furred with green and the light comes through soft and strange. The cold that gets into your clothes on the first night and stays there. The cloud that sits on the ridge for days and lifts for ten minutes if you are lucky. The summit that does not announce itself, just a clearing, a marker, and everything below you gone white.

Bukidnon does not sell itself. No beaches, no resorts, no flight that lands you at the trailhead. You go there on purpose or you do not go at all. And the people who do come back protective about it in a way the beach islands never make anyone.

The rings on this shirt are ours, drawn for it. The height is real. The coordinates land on the summit.
