One word. A thousand quiet leaps.

Salig (sa-lig): To trust. To lean on. To believe something will hold you. In Cebuano, belief is not a feeling you wait for. It is what you do when there is no proof and you move anyway.

This is the word you wear when the outcome is not yours to control. And the one you give to someone still waiting on theirs.

The Story

There are things you cannot finish alone.

Salig is the Cebuano word for what you do about that. To trust. To lean on. To hand over the part you cannot carry and believe it will hold.

It is not the same as hoping. Hoping costs nothing. Salig begins after you have done every piece of the work that was yours to do, and the rest belongs to the weather, or to a person who promised, or to God.

It is the farmer watching the sky in June with the seed already in the ground. The mother wiring fare money to Manila on the word of a cousin she has not seen in nine years. The fisherman pushing out at three in the morning because the sea has always given, even when it has also taken. The parent who signs the tuition without knowing yet where the second payment comes from.

Salig ko nimo. I trust you. Four syllables a Cebuano does not spend lightly, because saying them out loud means admitting you cannot do it by yourself.

Every person alive has done this. Not every language gives it a name.

The Salig Tee is for the one waiting on a result that is already decided and not yet known. For the one who lent something they could not afford to lose. For the one who keeps showing up on a promise nobody has kept yet.

One word. And everything you cannot carry alone.

Designed in Cebu. For those who still believe it will hold.

Pairs well with

Sometimes the bravest thing you do is hand over the part you cannot carry.

Wear it for what you are still waiting on.
Or give it to whoever is waiting with you.

What Salig carries

The sun comes back up whether or not you stayed awake for it.
The palm bends all the way over because it trusts it will not break.
The wave returns because the sea keeps its word.

Because you have done the part that was yours.
And the rest was never yours to carry.

Salig.

Padayon. Pahuway. Salig. Bangon.

Four Words. One Season.

A hard year has an order to it. The push to keep going. The rest you have to take. The trust you hand over when the rest is not yours. And the getting back up. Wear all four, because no season is survived on a single word.
