The Story

There is a legend behind the mountain.

Daragang Magayon, the beautiful one, whose love story was so tragic and so pure that the gods shaped a volcano in her memory. A perfect cone rising 2,463 meters above sea level, visible for miles, impossible to ignore, and still very much alive.

Mayon is the most active volcano in the Philippines. It has erupted over 50 times. And yet the people of Albay have never left. They plant crops on its slopes. They build homes in its shadow. They look up at it every morning and call it beautiful.

There's a kind of courage in that. A decision to love something fully, knowing it could change everything at any moment.
